Mikhail Ryasnyansky was born on May 17, 1926 in Taganrog, Rostov Region.


Graduated from the Kyiv State Art Institute in 1956.

He was awarded the Order of the WWII, 2nd degree, medals: “For Courage”, “For Victory over Germany”, “Veteran of Labor”, 6 jubilee medals, the Certificate of Honor of the Central Committee of the Komsomol of the MSSR in 1957, the Certificate of Honor of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the Ukrainian SSR in 1986,
Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR in 1976, People’s Artist of Ukraine in 2001.

From September 1943 to April 1944 – private in the 305th rifle regiment of the 108th guards rifle division, dismissed due to serious injury and concussion.

1944-48 studied at the Rostov Art College. 1948-1950 worked in the Rostov branch of the art fund, took part in 3 regional art exhibitions.

1950-56 – studied at the Kyiv State Art Institute. Graduated with honors.

1956-57 worked in the Cherkasy Association of Artists.

In 1957 he moved to Chisinau, where he was accepted into the Union of Artists of the USSR. He began teaching at the Republican Art School and was the chairman of the art council at the Chisinau Art and Production Plant of the Art Fund of the MSSR.

1968-1970 taught at the Kyiv State Art Institute.

In 1970, when the Mykolaiv regional organization of the union of artists was created, he was invited and moved to Mykolaiv.


Mikhail Ryasnyansky took part in regional, republican, all-Union and international exhibitions. There are more than three dozen personal exhibitions (Chisinau, Kyiv, Ordzhonikidze, etc.) in his work. His works are in many museums of the country and have been repeatedly reproduced in magazines, albums, calendars, including abroad. Only the painting “Communists Forward!” was reproduced 18 times.


Mikhailo Riasnianskyi, in addition to active creative work, carried out extensive public work. He was a member of the board of the Mykolaiv organization of the Union of Artists, chairman of the art council, a member of the board of the city council of war and labor veterans, president of the regional sports club “Ring”, a member of the board of the society “Memorial”

On his initiative, on the basis of the gallery of portraits of fellow soldiers created and transferred to the 2nd secondary school of Mykolaiv, which has more than 50 works, the museum of the 108th Guards Red Banner Order of Suvorov Mykolaiv Rifle Division was created.

In addition to this work and work on thematic paintings, Mikhail Ryasnyansky created a gallery of portraits of writers of Soviet Ukraine. O. Gonchar, P. Zagrebelny, P. Glazovy and many other writers posed for him.
